Good to know

This home, in a Designated Night Sky Viewing Area, is beautifully decorated and designed for comfort, with a fantastic split layout for the two bedrooms and baths. Bedroom 1: King Bed, bath with two sinks. Tub/Shower, Walk-in-Closet, Roku TV. Bedroom 2: Queen bed, XL Twin trundle. Next to bathroom with tub/shower combo; walk-in closet, Roku TV. Internet: 25 Mbps download speed/5 Mbps upload. My husband works from home on video while I stream and it works great. Kitchen: Fully stocked, gorgeous granite counter tops, Stainless Steel Appliances, Large walk-in pantry, Berkey water filter, many small appliances (toaster, instant pot, crock pot, electric frying pan PLUS...) Living Room: Seats 7, one reclining couch, Roku TV, one couch turns into twin bed. Laundry Room: Washer and dryer, detergent provided. Gas BBQ grill: Just off of back patio, gas tanks provided. Watch the sunset from the large front porch with two rocking/gliding chairs and a hammock, and the sunrise from the large back porch with a comfortable patio set and hot tub for five people to enjoy--a place where you can also BBQ using the grill. Our property is part of the "Designated Night Sky Viewing" area, so if you enjoy seeing the stars, you will enjoy evenings and nights at our property. With a small Basketball court (two basketballs provided) and tetherball, along with a cornhole set, there is plenty to do in the outdoors, even when at the home. Some attractions/Activities: Water Access, Fishing, Canoeing and Kayaking: Buffalo River Access: Town of Ponca, 9.6 miles; City of Jasper, 24.4 miles Hiking: Big Bluff & and the Goat Trail, 13 miles Hiking: Hemmed-in-Hollow Falls, 5.8 miles Hiking: Paige Falls: 6.1 miles Hiking: Hideout Hollow Trail, 6.8 miles Biking: Arkansas Monument Trails: Google it (can't add the link here unfortunately). Stargazing ("Designated Night Sky Area"): Our front and back porches , AND from the hot tub:) As far as supplies, we give you plenty of toilet paper, dish soap, paper towels, garbage bags, dishwasher pods, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We even provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand lotion, individual deoderant wipes and more in each bathroom in case you forgot yours. Besides the privacy and peaceful setting provided at our home, we have a small basketball court with two basketballs available, tetherball (do you know what that is?...play at your own risk, haha!), a corn hole game (found on the back porch) so that you can get out and enjoy the outdoors together with your friends and family. We also offer an indoor game called Pepper Pong that is played on the dining room table (like Ping Pong). Our home is a 30-minute drive from Harrison where you can find several fast-food and sit-down restaurants, a Home Depot, a Walmart, and a Hobby Lobby among other things. We highly recommend Jamie's Local Flavor (high quality steaks/sandwiches, etc for decent prices) and Nopalitos if you like Mexican cuisine. Neighbor's Mill Bakery is also perfect for breakfast or lunch. Be sure to bring your initial groceries (at least) so that you don't have to run into Harrison early the next day! How is the condition of the dirt road? It depends on how much it has rained. Within 24 hours after the rain stops, it is starting to dry up and back to good condition. You would probably want an SUV when the road is at its worst (wet/muddy). The road is graded after each big rain, especially from Hwy 43 to the property. If it is or has been wet, we suggest that to come in from Hwy 412, you stay on 103 until you get to Hwy 43, and come in that way, rather than going the back way at Osage. With just about everything you could need, you will really enjoy the comfort, solitude and quietness of this comfortable and well-stocked home, with many hiking, biking and river opportunities close by.

Other Details to Note

*Our home is 2.5 miles on a dirt road--be prepared to drive slowly on this stretch. Cars with really low clearance to the road may have trouble getting to the property, but most cars won't have a problem. There are two "dirt road" routes coming south on Hwy 43...on google maps you can see the alternate route--when coming from Harrison, we prefer to NOT turn on 18, but continue on Hwy 43 to Plumlee Rd (Hwy 16) instead. Your GPS will adjust when you don't turn on highway 18. *There are insects in the country—we use a non-toxic pest service which is helpful at keeping the population down! * We're on city water. While safe, we even use a Berkey filter at our personal home for health reasons, so we provide a Berkey filter system in case you are interested. We also provide five, cold, complimentary bottles to start your stay (you will find them waiting in the fridge). *You are in full control of your heat and cooling while staying at our home. *We have a septic system so please don't use bleach or bleach products in the home as bleach is not suitable for a septic tank. *Also, please don't bathe your dogs in the tub--their hair will block up the pipes so badly we will have to call a plumber (yes, this has happened :))...and it could damage the septic tank permanently. You are welcome to bathe the dogs outside using the tub behind the garage. *Last, but not least, do not let dogs go into the hot tub. If we find dog hair in the filter, we will have to empty the water and put in a new filter, plus do a deep clean. We would charge $200 for this. Thank you so much!

My wife and I took a last minute anniversary trip out, honestly just to get away from our two college-age kids! HA Man am I glad we chse this place. While it does require a short drive on a dirt road, it is 100% worth it! The sunrise view on the last day (the other 2 days were foggy, but even that was amazing because it felit like we were in our own little bubble) was truly remarkable. The house has everything you need to cook and even had lots of extra spices and condiments. And the Hot tub was such a relaxing feature, to just sit in and look at the stars. We will for sure be coming back here, just for a quick weekend escape! Thank you Sheryl for your attention to detail and for making this a great get-away.

Our experience at this Airbnb was incredible! Sheryl communicated proactively and was so kind and helpful throughout our stay. The attention to detail was amazing—everything was thoughtfully stocked, from the kitchen pantry to the restrooms, with anything you could possibly need. Items were neatly organized and labeled, which made everything super convenient. They truly thought of everything, even providing extra chargers! The beds were very comfortable, and the hot tub was a fantastic feature. The entire place was spotless, and the sunrise view was absolutely breathtaking. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. I highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and exceptional hospitality!

My family had a wonderful stay! We got there a little later in the evening, right at sunset. We immediately hopped in the hot tub and enjoyed the awesome blue underwater lights in the dark. The house was clean and had all the things we needed as a family of four (plus one on the way)! The water filter provided all the drinking water we needed, and there was plenty of space for all of us. In the morning we enjoyed coffee out back, watching the sun shine through the clouds and the breeze through the field. My kids enjoyed running around the large open back yard. We were so sad to leave, as we were just passing through on our way to the LRAFB. We are already planning our return. Oh, and the communication with our host was amazing! Made the stay even better.

Sheryl went above and beyond to make our stay easy and enjoyable. Absolutely everything we needed and more was found at the house. There were clear instructions for everything, along with labels to easily find and operate EVERYTHING in the house. Our favorite part was the night sky views and the hot tub. This was by far the best Airbnb I have ever booked.

Wonderful escape! Had all creature comforts of home. Beds were comfy, good linens and kitchen was well stocked. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Brought our food for the week and didn’t need anything else. Hosts were fantastic and our dog was in heaven.

If you’re looking for a peaceful place to decompress, Sheryl’s place is where you need to visit. Our family of 4 spent so much time in the hot tub relaxing and we did a lot of cooking. The guys did trail their motorcycles up there to ride the dirt roads. We frequent that area a lot for outdoor activities. The place was very organized. Every shelf and cabinet was labeled so there’s no confusion on where to find things. Sheryl was very proactive on her messages and even checked up on us to make sure we checked in ok. Since we arrived in the dark, the directions provided my Sheryl was very helpful. The hot tub is one of the best we ever used at an Airbnb. The extra towels and access to cleaning supplies were helpful to keep the place clean. We are looking forward to our return visit.

Excellent location close to hiking and the Buffalo River. It was our little peaceful spot after long days of hiking. Sheryl's place is spacious, well appointed and spotless. The master (king) bed was super comfortable. Biggest fan of the kitchen and hottub. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying again.

The pictures don't do it justice. The place was for us, 4 adults and a small dog, perfect to stay in. The location, view, and how peaceful it is was just over the top, especially if you dont like hearing any but the animals at night. Sheryl was very nice, helpful, fast with responding, and made us feel right at home. Thank you!!!

You definitely need a vehicle to get to this home. There is plenty of parking in front of the garage and even on the grass. If the weather has been rainy (or snowy), you may wish you had all-wheel or four wheel drive, but most of the time it's easy to get to our home without it.
